Elevating North Shields
Elevation is a community arts charity that was established by residents of North Shields to commemorate the town's 800th anniversary in 2025. Our mission was to create a series of high-quality public murals that capture the history and spirit of North Shields while enhancing the local feel-good factor. We are taking a bit of a break in 2026 whilst we consider what to do next.
The artworks are painted on prominent buildings around the Town Centre, Fish Quay, and residential areas. They add a dynamic visual element to our town’s landscape as well as educating about its history and culture.
