This mural focuses on a fishing boat out at sea, surrounded by crashing waves. The dynamic use of spray paint brings the scene to life, creating the impression of the vessel being tossed about in choppy waters.
It captures the harsh and unpredictable conditions local fishermen often face—highlighting the courage and resilience behind their work.
The artwork invites us to reflect on the risks they take each day to put food on our tables, and to honour the strength of a community shaped by the sea. Fun fact about this mural: the boat in the scene is based on a real working vessel from the North Shields fleet, named Equinox A.
