I Beg That Sound, by Ricky Also

Musical talent abounds in North Shields and local people love listening to, creating and performing music of all genres. In recent years this living heritage has been brought to national and global attention through the success of local lad Sam Fender. In this mural the artist takes a bold lyric from one of Sam’s songs and brings it to life in vibrant typography. As such, the artwork celebrates the raw power of music and the town’s creative voice. 

Ricky Also is an artist and designer based in Bournemouth, with over 35 years in the graffiti and street art movements. His signature style combines bold, interlocking geometric typography with written messages for viewers to discover. He also runs the creative studio Paintshop, delivering commercial projects and producing the Upside outdoor gallery and MultiStories mural festival.
